The International Symposium on Fatigue Design & Material Defects to be held at NTNU, Trondheim, 23-25 May 2011. The symposium is organised by the Department of Engineering Design and Materials, NTNU, Trondheim, and the Swedish Fatigue Network, UTMIS.
Topics for abstract submission include:
- Assessment of fatigue endurance taking material defects into account – standard and novel predictive methods.
- Mapping of material defects by means of non-destructive testing (standard and novel techniques) or microscopy.
- Statistical distribution of defects.
- Initiation and growth of fatigue cracks from defects – mechanisms and models.
- Development of design standards.
Deadline for extended abstracts is 15 October 2010.
